BHAKTI YOGA: DIVINE GRACE
What is God's grace? There is a stage when one is immersed in worldliness thinking that attaining worldly ends is the supreme goal of life. When one does not find peace in that sort of life, doubts crop up. 'Am I a body made of flesh, bones, etc., or am I a whirlpool of thoughts and emotions? No, there is something in me which is eternal and does not undergo any change amidst all these changes pertaining to the mind and body. ' One wants to know that such changelessness exists, and one becomes restless. This restlessness continues until the highest stage is reached. Some spiritual aspirants say: 'Swami, we were at peace before; all that is gone now'! This, in fact, is a good sign. Spiritual life begins with such restlessness, and that itself is God's grace.
