Thought for the Week
A hopeful can't prevail in this type of profound order if his psyche is recolored with experience even in the smallest degree. The mind must pull back absolutely from all objects of shape, taste, smell, contact, and sound. Just hence does it end up unadulterated? The Pure Mind is equivalent to the Pure Atman. Be that as it may, such a mind must be through and through free from 'lady and gold'. When it ends up unadulterated, one has another experience. One doesn't feel oneself be completely important to others either in their wretchedness or in their bliss.
(p.350, The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, The Master's recommendation to Mon 19 December 1883)
