রামকৃষ্ণের প্রত্যক্ষ শিষ্য স্বামী ব্রাহ্মানন্দ ১৯৩৯ সালের ৩১ অক্টোবর এই মঠ উদ্বোধন করেন।

ব্রাহ্মানন্দ প্রায়শই ভুবনেশ্বরে আসতেন এবং তার এখানকার জলবায়ুকে পছন্দ করতেন।

মঠ কেন্দ্রবিন্দুটি ১৯১৯ সালে স্বামী ব্রাহ্মানন্দ (শ্রী রামকৃষ্ণের একজন ধর্মপ্রাণ সমর্থক) দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল।

Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna

One hundred years ago today, the venerable Swami Brahmananda established the Ramakrishna Math and Mission at Bhubaneswar.

Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Bhubaneswar is a devout association for men brought into reality by Ramakrishna (1836–1886),

a nineteenth-century holy person of Bengal.

The saying of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission is:

"For one's own salvation, and for the welfare of the world".

Sri Ramakrishna Math, Bhubaneswar is the principal branch the focus of the Ramakrishna Order in Odisha.

It was begun in the year 1919 by Swami Brahmananda, one of the immediate pupils of Ramakrishna.

Swami Brahmananda a direct pupil of Ramakrishna inaugurated the math on 31 October 1919.

Brahmananda used to visit Bhubaneswar frequently and preferred its otherworldly climate.
